Trucker Dave
(Schmidt)

He drives a 35- ton rig, 12 gears and 18 wheels
and three braking systems, the traffic jams he fears
he listens on the radio to jingle jangle songs
at home he loves his dark beer, then nothing can go wrong.

He`s got the white line fever, these trucks won't let him go,
and he was born in the South, that's why he hates the snow,
he likes the Different Faces from good old Germany,
he met this 12-string superstar backstage in Milwaukee.

Do you think I'm a dreamer ,
do you think I'm a fool ?
but I am what I am, I think that's pretty cool.
Do you think we're survivors
of a golden age gone by,
when the Byrds were flying high so high above the sky.

He writes a lot of e-mails to his crazy German friend
who plays a 12-string Ric-RM in a Byrds-related band,
and in his free time Dave plays a 12-string guitar
and maybe one day Dave himself will be star.

Do you think we are dreamers ,
do you think we are fools ?
but we are what we are , I think that's pretty cool.
Do you think we're survivors
of a golden age gone by,
when the Byrds were flying high 8 Miles High above the sky.

And in his dreams Dave goes back to the flower power time,
to the days of innocent when loves was flying high,
to a hidden paradise in the California sun
is there nothing left of it, or has it just begun ?

Do you think we are dreamers ,
do you think we are fools ?
but we are what we are , I think that's pretty cool.
Do you think we're survivors
of a golden age gone by,
when the Byrds were flying high 8 Miles High above the sky.
